Shoestring
Barbados
There
are plenty of operators offering excellent diving, snorkelling,
water skiing and similar activities. Windsurfing and surfing
are also world class, on the South East and East coasts respectively-
Silver Sands is a popular area in which to windsurf..
Also
on the water there are boat or catamaran tours, a submarine
that cruises the coral reefs and you may charter boats for
deep-sea fishing. There are plenty of land-based sports facilities
including golf courses, horse riding stables and occasional
hiking and mountain biking trips. There is swimming and tennis
at most resorts.
Cricket is the national passion and you really can't avoid hearing
about it even if you do not wish to watch the game played. Many
tourists actually plan their Barbados vacation around test
cricket - and we certainly recommend watching the West Indies
play live at the Kensington Oval!
We
hope you will find everything you need on our site - links
to golf, tennis, mountain biking, cricket, hiking, horseback
riding, squash, polo, water-skiing, parasailing, scuba diving
and snorkelling, sailing, windsurfing, and deep-sea fishing.
Let us know if there is anything we've missed!
Local
pastimes include dominoes (see how hard each domino is slammed
onto the table!) road tennis (played with wooden paddles)
and goat racing on the beach.

Water Sports
The
Wet & Wild Cruise is a
combination of Watersports and Sailing. First on the agenda
is snorkeling over the wreck of the Berwyn which sank in
about 20' of water over 75 years ago. There you will see
a host of marine life, including sea fans, corals, sponges
and a multitude of brilliantly coloured tropical fish.
Our next stop is on the beach in Carlisle Bay where jet
skis, kayaks, wind surfers and banana boat rides await you
with the beach crew to show you how it's done
Around
midday, a delicious lunch is served aboard HeatWave which
is then followed by a leisurely sail along the calm and
beautiful coast of Barbados. Complimentary refreshments
are served from start to finish.
