Barbados' tropical climate must
be its leading attraction - hot and sunny all year round
with enough rain to ensure that the island also retains
beautiful plantlife and an abundance of flowers. The weather
is at its best during the high season - mid-December
to mid-April with rainfall low and the heat tempered
by cooling trade winds.
Although the temperature does
not fluctuate a great deal (83 - 87) the
humidity in September and October becomes more noticeable.Hurricane
season runs from June 1 to October 31 although the most
threatening month is September. It is worth noting however
that the big blows only hit about once a decade, and warnings
are usually issued well in advance.
Rainfall is highest in September,
October and November, and lowest February, March and April.
Prices for accommodation are generally highest between
December and April, although some of the Barbados
budget accomodations listed with us do not change. Flight
prices from the UK are usually highest during school holidays.
